Background: Idé Amalie is a newly created digital space in response to the need to showcase my work, educational progress in my bachelor’s degree in applied computer technology, and personal creative ideas and projects. With increased demand for attention and digital presence in everyday life, it is easy to have many ideas, but not enough depth and follow-through to create something concrete. A blog is thought to counteract this fleeting attention span and track technological changes in the world in real time. Without the ability to visualize plans and ideas, it is hard to organize them and determine which ones are realistic. A personal space for writing also gives more confidence when learning totally new and complicated cocepts. It can also reduce the opportunity to compare oneself with other students and be negatively influenced. Grades and education are important, but so is personal engagement and independent research. Especially in technology, where one would need to educate oneself continuously.
Project aims: A space or platform to gather ideas and showcase them. Preferably some of the ideas and projects will be realized more easily with this platform, as it gives a better way to organize ideas and follow through with projects, and a sense of urgency because of the platform. It would also be a plus if the blog is engaging for an audience, but this is a secondary objective rather than the main aim.
Project description: Develop a personal website / portfolio to show technical and creative work. Develop and publish blog posts. Research design, learning, and technology trends. Activities involve user experience (UX) design, accessibility, and visual design. Research will be evidence-based and transparent.
Final deliverable: A website / portfolio (WordPress) and social media presence (Instagram). Documentation of ongoing and future projects and ideas. Continuous publication of blog posts about technology and learning. There are really no limits to what the final deliverable will be.
Timeline: Ongoing.
Additional information: Must be engaging and encourage learning about technology and the development of technological skills. If the project becomes negative and costs more time and energy than it gives, re-evaluate the strategy. This document is meant to be a guiding plan for the project and can be revised if needed. Important! Does not need to be perfect – visible progress is more important.
